Virtualization Solutions Consultant
Position Overview To act as a primary customer interface for the professional services department. Identify, define and implement IT strategies and projects with the Sales Team. Liaise with the Managing Director of Services Delivery on a daily basis with client status updates.
Responsibilities:
- Provide pre and post sales consultation to client base
- Provide primary IT support, issue resolution and technical advice for client base
- Provide pre-sales service delivery in terms of assisting in Statement of Work creation, client negotiations, presentations, demonstrations, RFP contributions, etc
- Provide post sales service delivery in terms of assessment, architecture, design, implementation, migration, recommendations, upgrades, knowledge transfer, technical documentation, training, business case/TCO creation, etc
- Recreate customer technical environments by researching, identifying, and resolving a variety of problems
- Work within and outside of subject matter expertise to expand self knowledge base
- Assist in the development of service deliverables
- Assist in the development of practice expertise and cross training of other consultants
- Position involves 25% pre-sales and 75% technical/consultative hands-on
- Obtain and maintain technical certifications related to job function
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Virtualization transformational experience
- Experience in providing technical support to enterprise customers (preferably Global 2000) for mission critical Windows and Linux computer systems and related software
- Strong Windows administration and or hypervisor administration skills
- Installation, configuration and provisioning of operating systems
- Installation, configuration and provisioning of multiple hypervisors
- Storage Area networking is an asset
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure is an asset
- Setup and operation of TCP/IP networking
- Application packaging an asset
- Application streaming
- Minimum 5-7 years experience for each of the above requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or College diploma with Information Technology focus or equivalent work experience
- Strong working knowledge of the various flavors of Unix, Linux, Microsoft plus x86 platforms, devices, and networking
- CCA XenApp and or CCA XenDesktop certification required
- CCEA/CCIA certification is an asset
- MCITP Windows Server 2008 Admin or higher certification required
- MCTS Exchange 2010 is an asset
- MCTS Server 2008 Virtualization or Desktop Virtualization required
- VCP certification an asset
Other • Excellent interpersonal skills • Strong spoken and written English skills • Valid driver’s license and able to travel to client sites • Reliability Status Security Clearance or the ability to obtain
