Consolidated Storage Strategies
The Enterprise Systems and Storage Group combines the three facets of hardware,
software and consulting, to design and deliver an effective consolidated storage
strategy for our customers. We have helped many of our customers make the transition
from direct-attached to SAN/NAS storage. The benefits that are realized from this
migration to a shared pool of disk drives – are lower costs, simpler expansion and
greatly improved utilization of systems and personnel. A consolidated storage strategy
will typically lead to a smaller number of file servers, which has an obvious impact
on your capital and operating costs. There is also an immediate impact on the efficiency
and ease with which the data can now be managed. A consolidated storage strategy will
lend itself to the implementation of an efficient backup and recovery strategy.
Using updated Ultrium or sDLT technology and leveraging the Fibre Channel network
installed for the SAN, customers can finally get a handle on the backup and business
continuity challenges they face. Our core solution set centers around the EVA and MSA
products from Hewlett Packard. We also have complete competence with Brocade switch
products, OpenView Data Protector software, and the data migration strategies to move
from DAS to SAN.
Our SAN customers have achieved
- Better utilization of their storage capacity
- Ability to easily handle expected or unexpected data growth
- More efficient management of their data
- Easier implementation of a backup and restore strategy
- Easier implementation of a disaster recovery or business continuance strategy
- Ability to implement VMware’s Vmotion for a cost effective DR strategy
- Less downtime, lower costs
